As the joint bid involves two sites in East London, thought has been given to the need for a formal communication structure, in addition to mutual recognition of key investigators by Honorary academic and NHS consultant contracts. Thus a dedicated web site has already been established (www.burnshealing.com) and a WebCT teaching site will be developed for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching (limited access code can be given at present). A video camera and web camera have been purchased to enable video conferencing. A formal seminar series will be established at Broomfield organised by Simon Myers and involving the Professor of Burns Care Research. New SSM modules on burn care in the undergraduate curriculum based at Broomfield will be developed by Simon Myers.
